All you can do is make a decision on what you know – you can’t make a decision based on “if only” and “maybe when”. You have to decide based on the facts you have now.
Since we have no idea what you are talking about, it’s hard to go much further.
When I have had decisions to make (career, etc.) I find it useful to make a list of the pros of one decision and the cons of that decision and then weigh them, rationally.
Give it time to really mull it over. Don’t rush!
You know what they say “a bad decision is better than no decision at all.”
@neonlight I thought they say “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice”.
But, @kritiper is right, if you have the time, take the time. Over the years I have found that often problems resolve themselves or at least make the choices clearer and easier to decide between.
@rojo beyond not deciding, another failure is not really knowing what you want to achieve through the decision.
Ask for advice, preferably from someone with experience.
Actually, making no decision IS making a decision. It’s a passive aggressive way out so if the wrong thing happens the person who made no decision can say they had nothing to do with it. It’s chicken shit, in my book.
I wish I kind of knew what you’re facing. You might start by throwing out what is obviously the wrong move, and see what is left. Then make a pro / con list.
Time to trust your gut. And if you want to know how your gut feels, flip a coin.
If you are happy with the coin flip, that is what you really wanted.
If you don’t like the coin flip, go with the alternative, because that is what you really want.
You look into yourself and decide. Time to adult.
What exactly is not clear about the bad, and worse, decision that you have to make?
How do you think you can get more, or better information?
Sometimes YOU have to do more research on a conundrum, if the initial info is not helping you to make a decision.
There is almost always a lesser of two evils. There is almost always another option that wasn’t necessarily obvious to you in the first place. Another angle, as it were.
Some things (because you are too close to a situation, or because you are emotionally involved) are extremely difficult for you, as the primary decision maker, to make. Sometimes a friend, a less biased outside observer, or an expert in the subject of the specific situation, can offer you an answer or an alternative that is better than what you can come up with. Things are often obvious and clear to other people who aren’t emotionally involved in the situation.
Life isn’t always fair. Reality isnt always what you wish it was. No point in dreaming of what could be. I like to face the facts and overcome obstacles. I make a decision based on 1. What my instincts are telling me and 2. Whatever brings me closer to a goal or further away from a bad situation.
