Did the estate tax exemption double or not?

I had read that part of Trump’s tax reform was increasing the estate tax exemption, but did that part actually get passed? Something like $11m per person, is that right? So, a couple can exempt $20m? Why the hell is anyone ok with that? Don’t bother answer why anyone is ok with it, I know all the excuses, family farms, and why should the government tax money more than once, etc.

Did the gift tax exemption get raised too?
