I mean an actual desk, an object designed and intended for use as a desk, and not some other piece of furniture adapted for the purpose.
If so, what do you use it for, and how much time do you typically spend at it?
For purposes of this question, I don’t mean a dedicated computer “desk,” one that’s configured exclusively to hold a computer and computer-related gear. If there’s no designated writing surface and no storage space for writing-related materials, it isn’t what I mean by a desk.

Yeah 2 side by side with our computers on them.
Yes, it is the length of one wall. My brother built it for me. There are cabinets below and above. There is room for my printer, calculator, books and a large work space. I could put my laptop in there, but I don’t.
I don’t, but I hope I soon will.
Right now my furniture does not serve my needs.
I plan to get the sofa out, and bring in a desk.
@chyna, feeling jealous.
There are 3. The youngest was manufactured in 1926.
I have a desk which is situated in a corner of my bedroom adjacent to a window. It is around 50 inches wide and 23 inches deep. My computer monitor, mouse, keyboard and headset sit on it as well as various papers, bills, a container for writing materials and a telephone. It has an open storage shelf to the right containing leaflets, an old diary, tape measure and a printed itinerary for a holiday we are planning. Beneath this are three drawers which contain among other things writing paper, envelopes, fountain pens, a calculator, string, wrapping paper and two bottles of ink.
I spend a lot of time here as it is the cockpit from which I control my life. The window is a bonus as it has an open view of the sky and I like to see the summer clouds sailing by or storm clouds moving in from the west or clearing away at evening when the sun breaks through.
Yes, I use it for work. My laptop computer does sit on top of it, and also a stand up file and a landline telephone. Also, on top of the desk, is a stapler, and holders for paper clips, pens, stamps, and bills. At the desk I plug my laptop into a proper keyboard (I love it) and I have a wi-if mouse.
The desk has two file draws, which I use almost to capacity, and use them almost daily. It also has three additional draws that hold calculators, tape measure, post-it notes, tape, invoices recently processed, and other miscellaneous things.
I work at my desk about 50% of the time, and work in bad or on my sofa in the living room the other 50%. It depends what I’m doing, and what others in the house are doing. It also matters how crucial the work is. When I pay people around the world with my boss’ money I do it at my desk with full attention. Screwing up a transaction is not something I want to do. It’s the one place I’m loathe to make a mistake.
I have a desk in my kitchen that my grandfather built. It collects bills and other office stuff, and has cubby holes where I keep stapler, stamps, envelopes, phone books, etc.
My computer desk is in the spare bedroom.
Yes, and it is huge. By some miracle we got it up the stairs and around a corner and into a room and my husband doesn’t think we’ll be able to get it back out when the time comes!
Yes of course, behind which i’ve conducted job interviews, severed contracts & even, when the mood takes me, tap danced something thirties atop that solid lump of oak.
Three – - One in computer room, one desk (where 11 years ago we wrote out the checks for bills) and one upstairs where my wife ran her business and computer for accounting (now closed for 10 years).
Yes – the smallest bedroom has been my home office for the last 20 years. When I left the family business, I contracted to do some work from home and we brought my big L-shaped work station from the office and fitted it in here. It has enough counter space for my desktop, printer and around the corner of the L, there is a work top for writing. I spend close to a third o my day here probably.
Yes, and actually two, because annual time is spent between two homes. Both are used for storing office supplies and managing basic information, like incoming mail, bills, etc.
Nope..I was going to say computer table but that’s not what ya wanted. In future I might consider having one if at all I start writing something (not 100% sure).
I have one that wraps around the room in my office/mancave. It was a corner/nook desk set that I bought two of and modified to take up half the room. It’s multi-purpose as it has an area for study, writing and office stuff, a spot for my computers, I have a small network rack, my ham radio gear, electronics tinkering and a small mixing board with monitors and an effects rack for music. The walls are a mosaic of bookshelves lined with books, antiques and things that were special to me. The one part of the room that does not contain desk has a rack of guitars.
A chair is still a chair, even when there’s no-one sittin’ there
But a chair is not a table, a table’s not a desk
When nothing’s there except the pc
And scribbling becomes reality

We have one “real” desk, one three piece corner desk, three computer desks, one library table, and one dictionary/atlas table with three shelves. I also have a laptop desk on wheels and there are portable folding tables next to every computer desk, plus several folding tv tray – type tables and four stationary tables.
We have a very nice, oak, roll-top desk that decades ago we used to pay bills. It is in the bedroom now still storing envelopes in one drawer, pencils and writing supplies, tape scissors, etc. in the wide center drawer and insurance papers in the deep drawer. it is covered with other stuff that was moved from other rooms during cleanups when “company” was coming.
Virtually all writing now is done at the kitchen table where the laptops sit.
Well… I also have a nice, antique cherry wood desk in the spare bedroom up stairs.
Yes, I have an Ikea desk in my room, on which sits my desktop computer.
We have a desk. It’s in our master bedroom. I’m the only one that really uses it.
I have to admit it’s been gathering a bit of dust; I haven’t had much of a chance to use it over the summer.
