I am surprised, I didn’t think anyone there had that much integrity.

I’m waiting for the GOP roast to start with pictures.

I’ll have popcorn with the videos on the 11:00 PM news

Tropical_Willie's avatar

Nobody on the Trump team of GOP members has the integrity.

What is shocking is that people who are trusted would leak to the press. Complete utter lack of integrity, honesty and trustworthiness which can endanger our country! No semblance of class!

notsoblond's avatar

^ahahaha, are you being sarcastic?

JLeslie's avatar

I agree.

I find it all so ridiculous. The Democrats have been saying since day one of Trump’s precidency that Trump will be gone in days, weeks, whatever. Blah blah.

I just find it all very monotonous.

Of course, if Trump is doing things that are impeachable then it’s newsworthy, but so far it’s a lot of talking and nothing really happening.

Look at Iran Contra?! If Reagan stayed in then why do people think we will get rid of Trump so fast?

janbb's avatar

@JLeslie I’m not sure you read the letter. The point is that it stated that many in Trump’s administration are working to mitigate the damage he does. it was written by a Republican in his administration; it has nothing to do with the Democrats.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

I wouldn’t be surprised if Trump or his VP Mike Pence wrote the anonymous letter to the New York Times.

janbb's avatar

^^ Naw, It’s in complete sentences.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@janbb Lol. I didn’t read it. Just listened to a couple of minutes of CNN.

JLeslie's avatar

@janbb I’m talking about Democrats on TV, and in my Facebook newsfeed, and friends all around me, talking about this new thing like they talk about every new thing about Trump like “this is it!” The golden key.

Don Lemon read the letter on CNN.

Apparently Trump blew his top :-)

Someone in Vegas needs to start a betting pool on who it is.

stanleybmanly's avatar

It’ll happen

Tropical_Willie's avatar

I wonder if Trump is on B/P meds or anti-stroke meds ? ?

Should be !

Watching MSNBC – the theory of one of the panelists is that it’s shared document written by several people.

I don’t think there’s a person on this planet that envies this man. I heard tonight how lonely he is. I don’t doubt this revelation.

ScienceChick's avatar

I want everyone in the White House who feels this way to show up, in person, at a press conference and ask that Trump be removed from his position and hand over documented proof of how cray cray this man is. Neurosyphallis is a thing and what he has looks like General paresis.
This form can appear decades after you’re infected with syphilis, and it can cause lasting issues. However, it’s fairly rare today because of advances in the screening, treatment, and prevention of STIs.

If it develops, general paresis may lead to several health problems, including:

paranoia
mood swings
emotional troubles
personality changes
weakened muscles
a loss of the ability to utilize language
It can also progress to dementia.

^^Again, Reagan probably had most of those symptoms, memory loss, his Alzheimer’s was already setting in. He just was a much “nicer” man with better etiquette in general.

I think the Republicans will most likely wait until election time, and then do something to make sure Trump can’t run again.

@notsoblondanymore I read your answer before driving to work this morning and it made think of his wife and how lonely she must be also. Other presidents wives had been shown laughing with other people and with their husbands. You never see Mrs. Trump even smile.

This kind of thing has been said before. What purpose does it serve to say it again? Nobody has pointed out any actual disasters that have taken place. Trump may be incompetent, but somehow things have been moving along.

LadyMarissa's avatar

Any chance it’s Melania, Ivanka, Jared, & Eric???

Call me paranoid but I am not taking this letter at face value. It feels like it was meant to accomplish two things:

1. Distract from the Kavanaugh hearings
2. Convince voters, given Trump’s very high disapproval rating, that Trump is the only “real bad guy” in the administration, and that other Republicans are keeping him in check, so it’s safe to vote Republican in the mid-terms.

Whoever wrote it is a disgusting coward for being willing to let Trump avoid impeachment proceedings in order to avoid a “Constitutional crisis.” Following the 25th Amendment, literally a part of the Constitution, to begin a process that is allowed and enabled by the Constitution, does not constitute a Constitutional crisis. A Constitutional crisis is when the systems that are in place fail to keep corruption in check – such as a Congress that refuses to constrain a corrupt president by voting for his agenda and allowing him to continue nominating SCOTUS judges for lifetime positions despite the fact that he is under criminal investigation and is possibly an unindicted conspirator. A Constitutional crisis is when the system allows the president to pick the judge who may well end up overseeing their own criminal case. That’s a Constitutional crisis. That’s happening now.

This person is making excuses to retain their own power despite Trump’s unfitness for office.

LadyMarissa's avatar

There’s very little that shocks me anymore!!!

stanleybmanly's avatar

@Mariah I agree that it’s sound policy to suspect the motives of any high level operative aligned with Trump. And in this case, it’s difficult to ignore the self serving aspects of the letter. After all there’s nothing in this letter that qualifies it as sensational. There is absolutely no news in an announcement that: “Trump is inept and unfit for office and some of us working for him have noticed.” You might as well announce that “there’s sand at the beach” or “cigarettes will kill you”. It isn’t the announcement that’s sensational, but rather that a high level toady submerged in a crowd of cynical like minded toadys yells anonymously “the emperor has no clothes”. This reminds me of those German generals and officials allied with Hitler, and anticipating Nurenburg as the shells from 4 Russian armies obliterate Berlin. “I stuck with him to minimize the damage, and this letter proves it.”

I just saw this online and it really made me laugh. “I am a senior official in the Empire who works in the Death Star. I’m proud of some of the work Darth Vader has done, but I consider him dangerously unstable. He walks around talking about how he can force choke women by the pussy through the Force. He even lopped off the head of a bat with his light saber and ate it at one cabinet meeting. But I’ve stayed on, hoping that I could at least make sure that when we fired on Alderaan and destroyed the planet, it wouldn’t take out a nearby planet as well.”

Tropical_Willie's avatar

Could it be Mike Pence is the ‘Anonymous Senior Level’ member of the White House staff?
Because the use of one word Mike Pence uses it a lot in conversation.

stanleybmanly's avatar

If Pence really is outed as the culprit, there will no longer be any question about deep constitutional crisis. Trump’s entire retinue must decide virtually on the spot whether or not to gang up and invoke the 25th amendment.

Tropical_Willie's avatar

@stanleybmanly That was my take, > > > > > > > > >Pence to Presidency.
