Depends where you live. You can go to salary.com and play with different job titles, experience levels, and locations to get a decent sense of salary ranges.

I am making $35/hour as a Systems Administrator, covering Windows & Linux on workstations, and Linux on the servers.

Real question is who really sees Windows lasting very long, anyways unless Microsoft can make some major changes to how they do business over the next 5-10 years.

For the same reasons, I also dont see what we currently regard as Linux lasting too long either...
