Why do talkshow hosts use Don Jr. as a whipping boy?

When they target his father I can understand, and appreciate it (he ran for office voluntarily, he’s a public figure, some may even say, chosen), but why do some (Colbert, Noah) bash Don Jr.?
What did he ever do to deserve ridicule?

Oh he’s just too much like his dad and his biggest fan, arrogant. He goes after Mueller and his dad’s enemies, etc… We’ll see if he’s another teflon Don (jr).
Jr jumped in from the get go attacking anyone & everyone. He more or less set himself up to be a target & as @KNOWITALL said, he aspires to be his dad. I see him as an abused child because he doesn’t know how to think for himself!!! The ONLY way to receive any attention from Trump is to be a mindless slave & he craves daddy’s attention!!! Sadly, the other reason is that it’s one way to get under Trump’s skin!!!
They find him worthy enough to be the butt of a joke. Get some laughs. He’s a caricature of a caricature that is his Dad.
He doesn’t recognize the mistakes he has made. For example, he came out and openly said something like “I didn’t do anything wrong. I just met with Russians to get dirt on Hillary.”
He hopes to ascend to the throne of king of the USA. Constitutional amendment to be tweeted out by his highness.
He’s an idiot, and an asshole, just like his idiot asshole father. He’s riding the coattails of the biggest jerk in America, which makes him…? Come on, you know.
Because Trump haters are fucking toxic morons, just like him.
