One of our members has been through some rough times recently, with school and work, and has been feeling overwhelmed and depressed. I won’t mention her name, because you probably all know to whom I am referring.
Today, I would like to invite you all to post something funny, or useful. It could be a funny cat video, a new delicious recipe you’ve tried recently, or a book or an idea you have used that has helped you to be less depressed or anxious in your own life.
I’ll go first.

When I’m sad or depressed, I go to YouTube, do a search for “babies laughing”, & then do what I call “link hopping”. I click on one of the options & after watching, I click on one of the recommends down the side, & then I continue clicking on the recommends until I catch myself laughing…or at the least smiling!!!
Babies sometimes transition over to puppies, kittens, elephants, foals, birds, calves, sometimes twin babies, etc.
Other times while just bored, I pick a word & do a similar search on YouTube & then begin my link hopping. I’ve found things that I would have NEVER seen had I just waited to discover them.
This also works by doing a google search & seeing what links come up. Yes, it can be pretty much a waste of time; yet, it occupies the mind & takes it on a journey that pushes out any sadness & helps to quieten the depression.
I love this so much. Makes me laugh every time.
