What are some former foods that you like that you don't feel comfortable eating anymore?
For me it is avocados and smoked oysters. I don’t know how to shop for avocados , I usually get them over or under ripe and I am afraid of eating purple miscoloured smoked oysters again.

Pre-Ramsay scrambled eggs.
Since I quit smoking I’m finding that foods that I KNOW I love, like green bean casserole, doesn’t taste very good any more. Say what??
I’ll keep thinking about this.
I have trouble digesting bread lately. I LOVE bread. But I steer away from eating it now. It just doesn’t seem to go down, and makes me feel sick.
Years ago, I would eat an entire loaf of French bread, or sour dough, or whatever, and it wouldn’t bother me. I’ve tried chewing more, but I still can’t feel right after eating any bread.
I used to enjoy chewing gum, but I have not had any in quite some time and don’t miss it.
I have gotten used to eating whole grain bread. White bread is now like a bunch of fluff.
I have also cut back on red meat and found that I no longer care for it especially.
A long list of foods, too many to mention here.
Anything made with animal products. I refuse to be a party to such cruelty.
Meat. I’ve been a vegetarian for over 30 years. I don’t crave it, or miss it.
There were some junk foods that I enjoyed in my youth that sound downright awful to me now like Twinkies and Ding Dongs.
Most fast food places serve mostly meat, save for the boring lettuce and mealy tomato salad with stale croutons and gloppy fat-filled dressing, so except for the occasional bean burrito or potato soft taco at Taco Bell or Del Taco, I don’t eat at the others. Back in my youth, I used to like bacon cheeseburgers from Carls Jr., but I don’t miss them at all.
What I have found, over the course of my life, is that I have developed new tastes in foods that I had never previously liked, or had never tasted, before I became a vegetarian. I used to be a pretty picky eater until I had to find new foods.
Learning to cook, and simply going into stores to see what was available, and talking to friends who were already vegetarians was invaluable. I probably eat more different kinds of foods, than most Americans.

Shopping for avocados:
It’s almost impossible to find even one that’s just right.
If you do find one that’s ready to eat, get it. Otherwise, get ones that have aren’t quite ripe but have at least one soft spot.
If you can’t find any with any soft spots, buy them anyway and then store them at room temperature. After that, check them daily. Once they’re soft but before they’re squishy, eat them or put them in the refrigerator.
Anything high in cholesterol.
That reminds me @Kardamom…I used to love Hostess cupcakes. I ate one for the first time in decades the other day…yuck!!! Yuck on Twinkies, too.
Yeah. Foods that are just sugar, are unpleasant, to me now…
I used to love Cherry Mash thingers as a kid.
Also, candy necklaces and candy cigarettes.
Oh yeah! Candy cigarettes! Lol…
We should bring those back. You know, “make America great again.”...
And the “hilarious” kiddy porn they had in Playboy magazine sometimes. I saw this cartoon once…I guess it was supposed to be funny, but I was pretty horrified. I was about 10.
I think the first Playboy I ever saw, was a early 90’s one. I never really liked the magazine for porno. I actually just read the articles. There was an article on Timothy McVeigh in one. Very interesting.
Back in the day, if I wanted porno, I bought a Hustler, or something like that.
It amazes me how easy adult content is to find these days.
“I get it for the articles.” Yeah, right!
Ask most men. Playboy sucked. Men are nasty. We want to see “everything.” Playboy never showed anything. Boobs, and bush. Yawn…..
@ragingloli Pre-Ramsay scrambled eggs.
They have no golden nugget balls; they are tiny omelettes; just laying there like eggs dropped from his only basket. Where was the blackened pan: nowhere. I think you just come here to offer advice.
