Will you miss Google+?

Google+ is going away at the end of 2019. Let me know if you have ever used it.

Yes, actually. In the beginning it had so much potential for outreach and education.

Just like facebook and myspace, I rejected it from the beginning.

My issue with Google and FB (as I imagine @ragingloli ) is how they collect data and then use it to target ads to you. I didn’t really care as I actually don’t mind targeted ads (I’d rather have ads for things that I am interested in than otherwise), but after the last election the dark side of data sharing really came out.

I ONLY used G+ for astronomy outreach and when the Virtual Star Parties finally died for various reasons I stopped using it.

@rojo It’s a social media site that was to be an alternative to Facebook. But it fizzled.
