Does anyone else think the Reese Cup Easter eggs taste better than the Reese Cup pumpkins? If so, why do you think that is?

Asked by chyna (51598points) October 22nd, 2018 from iPhone

Is it perhaps the ratio of chocolate to peanut butter?
What would your guess be?

Both of them are bastardizations of the original, authentic Reese’s peanut butter cup. As such, they are cannibalistic brand extension derivatives and are not credible products.

Having said that, the Reese’s easter eggs are awful – spun sugar in a styrofoam-tasting mixture covered by a chocolate cover. It isn’t awful if you don’t mind eating plastic candy.

At least Reese’s pumpkin cups have a whiff of authentic pumpkin essence and taste. Not much, but a trifle more acceptable than the Easter stuff.

I don’t think one is better than the other; just different shades of inedible.

I have absolutely NO control when it comes to Reese’s Cups; so, I tend to avoid any & ALL contact with my weakness!!! That means that I’ve totally avoided any spin off of the Reese’s Cup; so, I’ve NOT tried either the Easter or Halloween candies for fear of liking them too much!!! In all honesty, I don’t care for pumpkin, so I’d probably prefer the Easter to the pumpkin…just can’t verify that statement!!!

It doesn’t taste like pumpkin, it’s just shaped like a pumpkin.

It’s the chocolate to peanut butter ratio. When I still ate them, I always preferred the mini Reese’s and not the big cups.

@chyna Dayum you…you just took away my reason to NOT place it in my mouth. IF I like it, we’re going to fight!!! LoL ;(

Well, so much for a quiet time on the couch, with the pup. Now I must go acquire the pumpkin ones, and taste. I will have to taste many in order to record the details of my impressions.
Then, come the Easter season, I will have to do this again, with the same level of persnicketitude.
Maybe I can qualify for a grant to help fund the study… ;-)

No no. I want to talk about chocolate covered cherries!

It’s food related, so it’s all good.

OMG…I’ve gained 10 pounds just thinking about the possibilities offered here!!!

Go eat a stick of celery @LadyMarissa!

Oh hell NOOOO…NOT after being tempted by Chocolate Covered Cherries, Reese’s Cups, Creme Eggs, etc!!! I’ve NEVER liked celery & sure don’t right now!!!

Great question! +1

I’m not sure if I’ve tried the egg. The pumpkin is not the same as the cups, and I think it’s the ratio. Other firms just aren’t the same, although, the mini cups are satisfactory.
