What would be the best credit card for me?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47127points) October 31st, 2018

I normally do not use credit cards. I haven’t had one in over 20 years. However, something has come up and I need to apply for one to be used through November, until income starts coming in, at which time I will pay it off and cancel it. My credit is very good, so I won’t have any trouble getting approved.
For Jellies out there who have had more experience with the different kinds, what would you suggest for me?

Get a card that has no annual fee.

Consider going to the Teachers Credit Union (any bank) for a 90 day loan instead of paying 19% to 25% per month.

Zero interest, no fees for a year. Google that and it comes up with lots of credit cards. Go with a name you trust like capital one.

Capital One is one of the lowest rated cards because of the high interest rate of 25% @chyna, it has no annual charges but monthly rate

If you absolutely have to get a Credit card use Nerdwallet ! to find the right card, they hand tailor for your needs.

Thanks @Tropical_Willie. I think I like this one. The cash back isn’t my concern. It’s the 0% APR on purchases and balance transfers for 14 months.
What do you guys think?

Everyone I know has Discover, I dont use them personally and like the bank loan idea much better.

If you are planning to get a cash advance, the zero APR is off the table. It is usually in the upper 20 percent interest. In that case, I would get a loan.

I can’t imagine getting a cash advance so that’s really not a concern.
But thanks you guys. My card should be here in a few days.
