There is such a thing as "Rattlesnake Chili." Have you ever sampled it? What does it taste like, and how can I get some? It isn't sold locally where I live.

I have heard friends of mine in Texas rave about this unique dish. I’ve always wanted to sample it.

Don’t try it Trust me…

I’ve had it several times…some great and others that made me want to cut out my tongue. It really depends on how you make it.

Sometimes it’ll taste like rubber because it’s not done right, else it tastes like regular chili.

Here’s a recipe link – I think it’s more of a Texas thing than an AZ thing, although the restaurant I was in tonight in Phoenix had it on the menu. Didn’t try it – went for the green corn tamales instead

@baseballnut: Thanks for the recipe, but I wonder where one would go to obtain the rattlesnake meat to put into it.

It’s not something normally found in my grocery store “deli” section.

No joke – you can order it online from 1800steaks.com. It’s $40/lb. That’s a lot of chili
