If I was given an eviction notice is it already on my record?

Asked by Dannyfanpooch (70points) November 28th, 2018 from iPhone

I have on open case I see on my counties website but i signed a stipulation, does this mean if I try to move the eviction will already show on my record even though I’m still paying the stipulation and still living in the home?

My answer is yes if it was by court order. But spend some money and get a renter’s record (I think that what it is called) to find out for sure. I think it is on your credit rating for seven years.

Most likely it is.

If you are worried about getting another apartment it is also possible to get correspondence from whomever you are making payments to stating that you are, and have been, making regular reparations and when paid off you can get a letter stating that you took care of your debt.
Most landlords understand that sometimes bad things happen to good people and if you can demonstrate you are, or have, made amends that goes a long way to showing your character.

One of the best renters I had was a young man who was left being responsible for the entire rent after his two roommates moved out suddenly; he could not handle the rent on his own. He was paying off his debt and needed a place to live. He was working two jobs to do this. I took a chance on him. He was with me for seven years, never a late payment, never missed a payment. He finally moved out after he had saved up enough to make a down payment on his own home.
