Why can't I rearrange pictures in this folder?
I want to put these pictures in a certain order. I should be able to do it by just moving them around, right? They act like they’re going to move, but then they don’t. The only sort options I have are “Name, date, type, size, tags, date created, date modified, date taken, dimensions, and rating.”
There are also these options. I wonder if I deselect everything it will let me do what I want, but I’m afraid to mess with it because I have no idea what I’m doing or what could happen.
I don’t see anything that will allow me to flow freely.
Short of renaming every damn file, then re-renaming to get it where I want it, then maybe renaming it again and again I don’t know what the f to do.

Create another folder with copies, and then organize as a slide show.
You don’t say what software you are using. Find one that allows you to create a slide show.
What are you going to do when they are in order?
I’m just using Paint. I’m going to be downloading them to an electronic picture frame if that makes a difference.
Get yourself a photo management software app. Then you can play around as you like.
In this case there were <30 pics so I just named them to put them in order. I’ll experiment one of these days with throw away pics to figure out how to work around it. There’s always a way. :)
Thanks.
Change the photos names to 1..2..3 so that when the older sort items by name they’re in the correct order.
That’s what I did. It was painless enough since there were fewer than about 30 pictures, but if there had been more than that it would have been a nightmare. You have 1 through 75 named, then you get to a picture and it’s “Wait! I want this one to go inbetween 1 and 2”... ugh.
I’m going to play today, see if I can’t break this puppy! Hopefully I won’t break my computer first.
I guess another thing I could do is to create an album in FB. That program lets me sort manually. Then when I have them where I want them then name them.
