Which are two different films that when merged into one would somehow still make sense as a movie?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29220points) December 9th, 2018 from iPhone

Please exclude, movies with sequels, prequels and third installments.

Movies in the same genre is ok but better if it’s two movies from different genres.

Oh crap. I mean Armageddon, actually. Not “Impact” anything.

This has actually been done before with a TV show: Robotech.
It was a combination of 3 separate unrelated shows from Japan (Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber MOSPEADA). They crowbarred these three shows together in order to create a series long enough to be syndicated in America. The mashup actually worked out, and most people had no idea that they were watching an altered show.
As for movies that can be combined, that would be: Alien and The Cube

^^Thanks. So that’s why Robotech felt…mashed. : )

I loved Robotech. I haven’t even thought about it in many years. I had a couple tapes of it, when I lived overseas. Watched them hundreds of times. I think I had an action figure too. One of the jet robot things.

Thanks for the nostalgia!
