Why do some people talk into their phone while holding it at a 45 degree angle to their face?

Asked by Dutchess_lll (8753points) December 21st, 2018

So that the speaker end is pointing away from them so they can’t hear the other person talking?

Because they are fools in dire need of a series of consecutive slaps to the face.

I think it’s a position issue. They may not even be aware of it. I think I do that sometimes too. And as far as I can tell, everyone can hear me just fine.

The volume is set too high for close-in listening.

They don’t know how use “hands-free” which is required in California, Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia (plus Washington, D.C.), Puerto Rico, Guam and the U.S. Virgin Islands !

I can only imagine someone do that in front of their face. I do that. I don’t like my face touching my phone for hygienic and cleanliness reason since I don’t disinfect my phone all the times when I use it, on top of that, if you wear make up you’ll leave smudges of your phone’s screen. Also, my phone has its speaker positioned at the bottom end so 45 degree angle is actually close for hearing.
