It’s possible. It’s even possible to object to the withdrawel and still support him. Anything is possible.

But I understand what you are implying.

I think the withdrawel is wrong and a huge mistake whose impact the world will feel within a short time.

And Trump is an idiot either way. A narcissistic, mislead and easily manipulated strange little man America has decided will lead them for some reason beyond me. Very very frightening times these.

Sure it’s possible, but most Democrats will likely beat you up for it, and if they don’t know you well (even if they do) will assume you love Trump, are a Republican, don’t understand anything about the rise of Hitler, and you are part of what is destroying the country.

That’s been my experience anyway, every time I say the littlest thing that sympathizes with the Trumpers. I don’t even have to agree, just if I explain their perspective they (my anti-Trump friends) freak out, and I get all sorts of hate, and spoken to like I’m an idiot, and they don’t listen at all they are in such a state of anger and terror.

Good luck. You might want to keep any agreement with Trump to yourself. I don’t know if you agree with the Syria withdrawal, or if it’s someone you know? You didn’t really say. My gut feeling is it’s a bad idea, but I don’t really know all the ramifications.

Here’s the problem.

You can argue that the US shouldn’t have gone in, in the first place. But once we were there, the US became part of the equation, for Israel, for the Kurds, and for general stability. We acted as a brake for Turkish and Soviet ambitions.

So bailing out increases instability and volatility in the region. Strategically, the middle east is LESS safe than it was before the US came in a played around.

This is particularly bad because the US leaving makes both Erdogan and Putin stronger. Payoff?

I support the withdrawal, and hate Trump…

I am fully aware of how shitty it will be for Syria, and the region. I think other country’s armies will have to step in eventually. Right now, that seems to be Turkey. The Kurds will likely be systematically hunted down and killed. That’s a shame, as they fought hard to stop ISIS.

Any hope of Assad’s rule ending is gone. Russia will maintain a military presence there for the foreseeable future. I doubt that there are many actual civilians left there. The cities are ruble, and ruin.

I think America being there was dangerous. I think it could have led to serious problems with Russia. Alas Babylon

As possible as not supporting the US exit while supporting Trump.
