First impressions… alas…
People think I’m… but I’m actually…
Upon reflection, if you wish, attempt to analyze said misperception.
Maybe you’ll come to learn something about yourself.

Most people assume I read a lot, including books. I almost never read a book. I read articles I’m interested in, but no regularity to it. I read things like fluther if you even want to count that. I watch quite a bit of TV, and would much rather learn things via video or a movie, or someone telling me. I take it as a compliment that people think I read a lot, but I’m annoyed at the judgement and condescension people have towards people like me.
I don’t know if it’s still true, but some people have told me they thought I would be snobby and unfriendly when they first saw me, but then once they actually talked to me they realized how wrong their assumption was. Maybe how I carry myself? Not sure why? Or, their own insecurity maybe? It’s not like everyone has thought that about me. I haven’t heard it in a while, so maybe now that I’m older, and a little more weight on me, and posture not as good as it was, and a few more wrinkles, maybe I look more benign now. Women tend to be overlooked as they age in general.
People assume I’m married.
I don’t think anyone has any misunderstandings of who I am: I am too open about things, leaving no doubt! Ha-ha-ha!
People think that because I’m quiet it means I’m unfriendly, frequently bored, or unapproachable. All of those are wrong!
