Why do spray bottles always quit working too soon?

Asked by webmasterwilliam (165points) August 22nd, 2008

The frequency of failures of spray bottles frustrates me to no end. How often do I go to use Windex, 409, Resolve, etc.. where the spray bottle is half full and you just keep pumping the trigger and nothing comes out? I hate that. Why does it happen so frequently?

Probably because the straw that goes down into the bottle gets clogged in some way. If you can detach the straw from the head somehow (some are easier than others) and wash it off and then try and blow through it, got might clear it out and cause it to function better when its all reassembled.

Then again, you can just buy a cheap spray bottle and pour your stuff in there.
