I wonder if it might have been an automatic procedure that does that to a picture if it seems to be showing a lot of skin?

(It’s a corollary to why I’m afraid about robotic drivers for automobiles – a computer algorithm can seem like it works well, and then make mistakes no human would make.)

Unless it is obvious that there is an actual human addressing you specifically, I would suggest trying to appeal the reaction to a human support representative.

Not having seen your feet, I cannot give an opinion about how offensive they might or might not be to others.

There must be something afoot here.

Maybe you were not toeing the official policy line?

Or maybe you’re just a heel.

On a more serious note, it appears that Instagram has been having technical difficulties of late, could be related to that.

Some other apps have this issue. Someone report your pics and the system will simply delete them without analysis, even though they claim a mod or similar person will check them first. To tell you the truth, there are porns in Instagram, deleting a picture of feet is simply hypocritical.

I’m not on Instagram but am reminded of a story I read.

A mother’s photo of a homemade cake which was outlined by 12 I believe it was cherries was deleted from Instagram and her account banned if I recall correctly because it was mistaken as a photo of breasts.

This tells me that Instagram is moderated by an algorithm not humans.

BTW, the cake photo was investigated and the mother’s account and the photo were both restored.
