Have you noticed the increasing, and annoying, trend to embed advertising into the video content of news stories, etc?

It has got to be something that really catches my attention for me to sit through the ad and not flit on to the next item.
Do they have data, or do they collect data, that tells them that the ads are being turned off by people like me and so their content is not being viewed?
Same goes with anything that is put in list form where you have to go from one screen to the next. Rare that I get past the second click before quitting the site. Do they know this?

It used to drive me crazy until I started using Adblock Plus now…poof NO ads!!! I know it works well with Firefox & I think I’ve read that it works with the google browser also. it may work with several more. The ONLY drawback that I’ve found is most websites I visit give me a popup asking me to whitelist them. The ONLY site that I’ve been forced to whitelist has been my online savings account. I couldn’t check my account unless I agreed to their ads. Fortunately, they don’t have many ads which concerns me because I’m wondering what it is that they are really doing!!!
I use adblock and noscript.
The latter, by default, disables all scripting on websites and on many, it will also block those white-listing popups.
They know and would know more and more about us. There is no escape.
^ IF there is a way to know, there is a way to ESCAPE…it’s just a matter of discovering the best way!!!
I use AdNauseam which is a fork or uBlock Origin. AdNauseam blocks the ads but also clicks on them in the background making my data pretty worthless.
