I have a relatively simple Web site covering topics in high school math at mathed.org. It is hosted by Fat Cow, but there are other outfits that would have worked equally as well. Since I created it, I have made a few small changes. The change process is fairly straight forward. I can edit the file directly on the host site. For bigger changes, I can download a file, edit it in a Web page editor, and then upload the file.
I tried blogging for a while, over a decade ago. I was commenting on the news, spouting the same opinions you could find a thousand other places. It needed something new almost every day to retain my (tiny) readership. Writing that much was real work, and I stopped after about a year.
My advice is create a practice blog and write every day. It does not have to be good. You don’t have to tell anybody.
Write every day. Even if you have nothing in mind, devote 5 minutes to your blog. Some days you will produce a wonderful review, some days you might describe your toes.
I say this because the hard part (for me) was quantity. To attract readers, you need frequent updates.
Make it a habit.
Looking forward to reading your film reviews!
