Why do people join fan pages then complain about spoilers?

What do they expect us to talk about?
It’s pretty funny. I belong to a fan page dedicated to the show Vikings. We’ve lost at least a handful of members just today due to spoilers. They even announced their displeasure before leaving.
Do they not know how the internet works?

Saw this happen in FB movie discussion groups. The fix was to open a sister group where spoilers are not allowed. Just general discussion no citing specific examples of any scene in the film.
Once a member watches the film only then would he or she visit the group with spoilers…which at that point aren’t really spoilers I think. : )
I do belong to one group that doesn’t allow spoilers for 24 hours after the air date, but they don’t have the numbers that the Vikings page has. This page has over 50,000 members. You’d need an army to moderate that.
Fan pages…uggghhhhh, I got the all over shakes on that one.
It is their own damned fault that they do not already know that Snape kills Dumbeldore.
I believe people who avoid spoilers expect the future scene surprise them, they like suprises even though it’s easy/possible to predict the outcome but they simply prefer to be ignorant and blame others who are smart enough to be able to predict the future scenes. I like to join fan sites that dedicated themselves to theories and future prediction, they make good intellectual and mutual-interests discussion.
