Why would they? What benefit would they see?
Great question. I have some libertarian friends I can ask.
If this goes on long enough it’s going to cause a hassle for people who detest big government….then who are they going to blame and what will they propose to fix it?
^^If it goes on long enough and overall people “feel” things are carrying on just fine, the people who hate big government might say that the shutdown proves some of the jobs are not needed. The tricky part, is most government workers are still working, so the “feeling” might not really be based on the reality of truly getting rid of a lot of positions.
Of course they love it. Their short sighted, dim witted argument is: the fact that the country hasn’t collapsed proves that the government was bloated and inefficient.
I thought of it being a potential situation, but I quickly dissolved that theory.
To effectively reduce government would involve research, and pick and choose. The current situation is too random to prove anything.
Um yes, a lot of people hate the govt and think this is great. Letting Americans see both parties in ANOTHER petty standoff may give a great third party candidate a chance in 2020.
I just think of all the workers who voted for Trump. I hope they like working for free.
I’m sure that there are some who are dumb enough to see this as a good thing.
When you don’t have a big government, less people weigh in on what gets done. Less checks, and balances.
They think it’s great until it affects them.
I’m sure they’re too stupid to understand their role in their own misery…
