Is Trump actually making noises about withdrawing the United States from NATO?

6 of one and a half dozen of the other. Trump would be a bigger dumbass if he pulled the US out of NATO. If Putin is getting any money’s worth of anything, the US being in NATO isn’t hurting.

NATO is disproportionately backed by the US. I would like the other countries to contribute far more. Russia is a very real threat. My understanding is that Russia could overtake all the current forces there already. Regardless of whom supplies it, more is needed.
Removing the US from NATO would leave Eastern Europe practically defenseless. Putin tested his limits in Crimea. The world did not hold him accountable. If he has any plans of more military expansion, the near future is his opportunity. Maybe once Syria is 100% back under Assad. The Russians are quite capable of being involved in multiple military conflicts. And it is not hamstrung with a lack of oil, which is what helps keep North Korea from doing much.
