If you could take off two weeks from work, and were given $5,000 to use only for this purpose, where would you like to take a vacation?

And what things would you like to do on this trip?
The money has to be used for your transportation and and lodging, and everything else that you do on your trip, such as entertainment and food. The money can only be used for this vacation, you can’t put it in the bank, or buy something unrelated to this vacation, or give it away, although you don’t have to use every cent of it either. You can use part of the money to take some guests with you.
Some you may have Champagne tastes, so $5,000 might not go very far.
I tend to have fairly modest tastes, so I would like to rent a mid-sized motor home and take my best friend on a trip to several good camping areas out here in the Western US. We would camp, and eat at vegetarian restaurants along the way.
What would you like to do?

Having camped for years, and loved it, it was still a lot of work. I would go to a tropical island and stay in a hotel where I wouldn’t have to do a thing but walk on the beach and enjoy food that someone else prepared.
I am not well versed enough to know what I could even do with that money. If it were possible I would fly to England and I dunno, explore it and have fun.
Right now, two weeks in Costa Rica is looking pretty good both from a weather and a nature point of view. I would probably stay in a boutique hotel by a beach but do a number of hiking and nature excursions.
Japan. But the money won’t be enough I think.
I would go to Calgary and get an MRI done. If I had any left I would go to Edmonton and get a follow up witn my assessment psychologist. I would eat like a king with meat every day.
I would like to see Ball’s Pyramid.
(I love this question.)
I’d rent a house on Martha’s Vineyard, with an ocean view and plenty of room for overnight guests. Then, I’d invite all of my New England cousins and friends to take turns staying for a few days each. I can’t think of a more perfect holiday.
I think a cruise, because right now I’m not in the mood to plan much of anything. If it has to be right away, then maybe the Panama Canal. If I can push it off, then maybe a repositioning cruise in the spring, assuming I can get back within your $5k limit. A cruise to Europe most likely. My husband has always wanted to see Ireland and Scotland, I don’t mind going along with that. Although, he also wants to go to Germany, I’m fine with that too. Maybe Germany and Switzerland.
I would take Rick to the Pacific Northwest. Some day I will get him up there. He’s never been that far out of Kansas. We’d go salmon fishing, he’d go fishing with my cousins up there, we’d hang around with them, we’d go camping and hiking…..We’d go innertubing down Mt Rainer.
I’d head to Breckenridge, CO and drink lots of gourmet coffee, have some plate-sized pancakes, and watch people fall on the slopes awhile, maybe shop a bit.
