Will you donate to an announced candidate you support or will you wait until one is chosen?

I’m debating whether to donate to my preferred Presidential candidate now or wait and donate after the primary season has run its course. Donating now could give someone a boost but take away money from the final candidate.
What is your take on this? Please note that I do not want this to devolve into a fight about the pros and cons of specific candidates and I will flag if it does. Putting it in General for that reason.

You could go half and half. Half now and half later.
@RedDeerGuy1 True. Good point. My question is also about how effective it is to give to any one candidate out of such a large field at this point.
@janbb Not very much directly, but can help raise the confidence of the candidate early on. Might be more valuable to volunteer your time. I’ve never donated to a political party, but I did stack and place chairs and made coffee.
I have already donated to Klobuchar’s campaign.
I have participated in a survey from one Democratic candidate. I am interested in another who is running but does not have much of a campaign machine yet, and I am interested to learn more about one who has yet to declare. I will likely donate a bit now and then a bit to the nominee later.
I like @RedDeerGuy1‘s idea of volunteering now.
I started donating to my preferred candidate yesterday.
*Note: I am not a Democrat, but the primaries give me an opportunity to support the one Democratic candidate I would vote for in general. So, now is far more important than after the primaries, when I could be looking elsewhere.
I will wait til much closer to the primaries. I’ll have a better idea then of who I have the most faith in.
I have once donated, accidentally, mind you, too much to Howard Schultz.
@rebbel Are you saying that you overpaid at a Starbuck’s?
If you are going to donate, I think it’s best to donate during the primary season than after. The primary is the most important vote. But, I think it’s too early now.
@JLeslie But if I’m going to support whichever candidate runs, doesn’t it make more sense to save my money for that?
@janbb I’m not clear what you meant. Are you saying you are going to donate to whichever candidate wins the primary?
Ultimately, I’m going to support whoever wins the Democratic nomination for President.
@janbb Does support mean donate money? Or, does support mean vote?
Most Democrats are going to vote for whichever Democrat wins the primary. The way to ultimately get the person you most like is to help during the primary. That’s my opinion anyway.
I will throw money at Sanders. I still have a Bernie 2016 sticker affixed to the rear bumper of the Rolls. As with Elvis, I knew he’d be back.
@Brian1946 You got that right.
Once and never again.
Ridiculous prices there (imo).
Neither choice. None of the announced ones have made a case (to me) why they should be elected. Frankly, I don’t think any of them have a remote chance.
I’ll hold my $$ until it can do some good.
@elbanditoroso So are you saying you won’t donate to the eventual nominee of your party?
Eventually, yes @janbb. But it’s too early now and I’m not happy with the alternatives.
I only donate after primaries, I am not rich so I have to be selective.
@knowitall I bought two buttons and donated an extra few bucks. I just wanted the buttons
