It takes both to make a good pie.
Neither. I’ve never been keen on pie. The few pies I eat I like a balance of the filling and the crust, probably maximum crust around ¼ crust to ¾ filling, but more often less crust than that. I prefer a crumble/cobbler than a fruit pie, but in both cases I can just eat the healthier whole fruit and be completely satisfied. I do like my chocolate pudding pie though, and a really good pecan pie.
Filling.
I could suck a whole pie flat.
Depends on the filling. A well-made Pecan Pie is a serious delicacy.
Neither. I used to make pies for a living and can’t stand them.
I prefer a GOOD pie filling; however, even a good pie filling tastes better with a good crust to go along with it…Still I’ll forego the crust before the filling!!!
Crust. I cook a lot, and you can buy sugary pie-filling at the store, which many people do. Crusts are harder to get perfect, but its very rewarding.
My homegrown pumpkins last year were so much better than canned, it was amazing. We had four pies, two pumpkin rolls with just one pumpkin.
@seawulf I feel ya, I dont eat much anymore, but cooking for others is fun.
Depends. Chicken pot pie, the crust only. I give the rest to the cat (who won’t eat it.)
Pecan pie, no crust, just the filling, sans the pecans. I know, I know….
Apple pie, both, but not the fat back end of the crust.
Pumpkin pie, the filling for sure, then, if I even have room, the crust.
Our local butcher makes delicious steak pies with superb pastry. I can’t imagine one without the other.
They are equal in my tummy : )

I am with @Zaku . It is why a pot pie without the bottom crust is an abomination. Crust and filling both.
If you don’t like crust, you don’t like pizza and should just order spaghetti sauce and a spoon.
@zenvelo I love the idea of pot pie without the bottom crust. I find pot pie to be too much crust (when I was a kid I loved all that crust).
Not all crust is created equal @zenvelo!
Crust and filling are both important, in their correct ratios.
I mix a can of pie filling with a quart of half-n-half to make ice cream. S’wonderful!
I like to use canned pie filling on pancakes and waffles, sometimes with whipped cream and sometimes with ice-cream.
