What math is required to do fine art?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24945points) February 28th, 2019

I watched Pablo Picasso on NatGeo’s Genius and am wondering how much math, science and effort is needed for art? Like proportion , and patterns?

Basic Geometry would be helpful

Required? None. It’s art, there are no rules.

Got to agree with @ARE_you_kidding_me

A lot of people think art requires no knowledge. But you do need some knowledge in order to make art. You need a lot of spacial intelligence for drawing, for example.

Everyone can make art. Making great art is a different story.

Approximately zero math is needed, strictly speaking.

But the Rule of Thirds isn’t math.
