Do you have a friend or family who repeats the same stories over and over again in conversations and you stopped reminding them because you know it will never stop anyway?

There are people who are aware they repeat themselves sharing the same anecdotes over and over each time you get to talk and it seems that they are simply incapable of stopping due to maybe memory issues or habit or whatever….

Have you finally given up on reminding this forgetful one since you now know for sure he or she will never change at all?

Have you also come to a point where you even pretend you’re hearing the same old story for the very first time so as not to offend your friend by simply staring at a distance while they talk?

Yes, and it happens to be my husband! And I don’t hesitate to tell him I’ve already heard it 3 times. He just like to spin tales, and he’s pretty good at it.

My Mom used to repeat herself, but that was due to dementia. I had no problem pretending, and reacting, like it was the first time I’d heard it.
