Top Gun? It’s the first that comes to mind.

Monty Pyhon’s The Meaning Of Life

It’s full of many brilliant and funny parts and contains a lot of good 80’s social and philosophical commentary. It’s a different sort of film.

(My next three are Road Warrior, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Repo Man.)

John Carpenter’s “The Thing”
Ghostbusters
Fast Times at Ridgemont High (it was filmed at my alma mater, Van Nuys High)
Aliens
Airplane

Howard the Duck.
Seriously underrated.
Should have won all the oscars.

Nothing like seeing Raiders for the first time as a teen in the 80s! William’s music took my breath away.

Carpenter’s The Thing…Carpenter’s a genius in opening his films. The score hooks perfectly. Same with the first 15 minutes of The Fog. Brilliant.

Breakfast Club, Pretty in Pink and Some Kind of Wonderful. Just wow.
