Would you vote for Joe Lieberman if he was running for president in 2020?
If it were 2020, he’d be starting out the same age as the previously oldest president, Ronald Reagan, ended with. So yeah, I know he’s too old. But I think this is one Democrat I would definitely vote for, even though I’ve been a Republican since Obama’s second term.
Could you rally behind Joe Lieberman or someone like him?

No.
He’s a war hawk and supported the Iraq War. He also supported a bill that gives emergency powers over the Internet to the president, and he considers himself a “friend” to defense contractors. He also supports the far right government in Israel and doesn’t think that illegal occupation is a bad thing. He also voted for a bill that would restrict the ability of plaintiffs to file class action lawsuits against corporations in federal courts. He’s also an “unapologetic proponent of the death penalty”, yet we know for a fact that we put innocent people on death row every year.
He’s a joke. If he decided to run he’d completely tank in the polls and embarrass himself. It would be fun to watch.
I was pretty annoyed Gore picked him for VP back when Gore ran. I’d have to hear where he stands on issues now, but most likely I would not vote for him if he ran in the Democratic primary, if he runs as a Democrat. I said back when Gore picked him that Lieberman is not a Democrat.
If he runs as an Indepent even less likely I would vote for him.
If he ran against Trump in a primary as a Republican, now that would get very interesting. I don’t think he would win, but it’s interesting. The religious right tends to like him on a lot of things, but abortion is being made a huge wedge issue in this lead up to the presidential run, and the evangelicals won’t like his past votes on abortion rights.
No, I would not vote for Joe Lieberman.
Not a chance, if for no other reason than his party-hopping.
And he’s yesterday’s news. No current constituency.
From the little that I remember of him, he was too conservative.
Can’t vote anyway, his name reminds me of Larry Olivier’s character in Boys from Brazil…that’s it!
The man who gave away civil liberties in the name of security? The man who gave the NSA the Carte Blanche to listen to any phone call? The man who holds allegiance to Israel over allegiance to the US Constitution?
Nope, never.
Only if it were a choice between him and Trump, or some other loathsome Republican like Mitch McConnell.
