How do you use KFC gravy on chicken?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24986points) March 8th, 2019

The drumstick makes sense. You dip it. How do you use the rest of the chicken pieces? Do you pour it on? Or do you dip the ribs , breasts and thighs in the container? I’m getting hungry, and will take your advice today if I order out KFC. I might just order a BBQ duck half or whole for $20 or $36. All depends what my lunch is today.

The gravy is for the potatoes and the biscuits, not the chicken. One eats the chicken parts with one’s hands. After all, “it’s finger-lickin’ good!”

@zenvelo So I’m just weird a pioneer ? I will try and dip my chicken as a beginner. I will try it and tell Fluther how it worked out.

Tear off the meat & dip it in the gravy. IF you tear off a somewhat small piece of meat & just dip the tip in the gravy, you still get the lusciousness of the gravy without needing to lick your fingers to clean off any excess gravy!!! IF you want some gravy for your potatoes or biscuits, you can order an extra container of gravy…makes the whole damn meal taste twice as good!!!

The gravy, is for the mashed potatoes. Hot sauce, is for the chicken…

I used the gravy for the mashed potatoes and any bread that happens to be nearby.
The chicken was always left as served.

What makes me an authority? My years of working as a chef and counter worker at Chicken Delight in high school.

I only put it on the potatoes. The chicken is great without it.

Chicken with gravy would be good! I’ve only ever poured gravy on Thanksgiving turkey…and on the potatoes…and the stuffing. Hell, I just pour it all over everything.
I would pour it on the chicken, then use a knife to cut pieces off.

Update: tried with four pieces of chicken and medium gravy. Was awesome. I recommend it. Just don’t burn your fingers.

Being born & raised in the Southern US, we add gravy to anything that doesn’t move; & IF it moves, we reserve the right to throw the gravy at the moving target!!!

I only used the gravy on the mashed potatoes, but if you want it on the chicken, I would buy a breast and take the meat off the bone and plate it all like a Thanksgiving dinner. I’d still have the gravy mostly on the potatoes, but when I take a fork full I’d have a little potato, and a little chicken, altogether. I’d probably eat most of the skin separately, without gravy on it.
