Is it legal to give identical twins the same name, without any distinction?
I think it would be hilarious.

Not sure if legal, but would cause numerous problems with Identity theft etc
Also, as a Twin myself, ones identity would be lost and they would feel like a clone of each other, not a good idea.
I think you need to label them Thing 1 and Thing 2 at least.
Oh Lord. The twins once had shirts that read “Thing 1” and “Thing 2.”
Interesting question.
My guess is it’s legal in America. America doesn’t have many rules regarding giving a child a name as far as I know. Other countries might have more rules. I’m just guessing though.
I have kids in class with the DAMNDEST names.
I have had a kid named “Arson.”
The other day I had a kid named “Diablo.”
The names are like, “Well, it’s spelled Jarcee, but it’s “JAYCEE.”
My Exboyfriend’s uncle or cousin, I don’t remember the relation exactly, has three sons named Guillermo Jr. Not very creative with the name giving. Lol.
I had a friend named Jerry who said his brother was also named Jerry, but they weren’t twins.
I don’t see any indication that it’s illegal in the U.S. or elsewhere, although there are some legal restrictions on naming.
My Mom was 1 of 9 kids. Her folks were immigrants from Holland. Mom’s name was Cornelia, and she had a brother named Cornelius.
Not sure why you would do that. I had twins and didn’t even want to dress them alike. Seems like a really stupid idea.
I have sometimes wondered what it would be like to have twins born off the grid, and both of them using the same identity.
Actually, I think that seems like a good fluther question.
There was a good movie on Netflix called “What happened to Monday”. It was set in a futuristic world where population was being controlled world wide and any children over 1 was considered illegal and those children would be taken away, on the premise they were being frozen until the population issue got better. And a guy had septuplets and his wife died giving birth. All the girls were named a different day of the week, but the all had one public persona that they filled on their day. It was a good movie, but showed how weird it could be to have two people with the same name.
OMG! I need to watch that!
I think I vaguely remember that movie.
:-( can’t be bought on DVD in a format playable on US machines.
It is not region one.
It won’t play on US machines except multi region machines.
I don’t understand what you mean.
Publishers lock discs to certain regions, so they can not be played anywhere else.
Most players sold in one country can only play discs from the region that the player is sold in.
So, like trying to play blu ray on standard machines.
Edit: thanks for the help, loli
Where did you see that it can’t be played in the US?
It is right next to the big yellow exclamation sign:
” Playback Region 2 :This will not play on most DVD players sold in the U.S., U.S. Territories, Canada, and Bermuda. See other DVD options under “Other Formats & Versions”. Learn more about DVD region specifications here”
I see it now.
I have never seen that before and would never have thought to look for it.
Thanks.
All of George Foreman’s boy are George. (His five sons are George Jr., George III (“Monk”), George IV (“Big Wheel”), George V (“Red”), and George VI (“Little Joey”). On his website, Foreman explains, “I named all my sons George Edward Foreman so they would always have something in common. I say to them, ‘If one of us goes up, then we all go up together, and if one goes down, we all go down together!’)
Never mind…I saw the warning. I would suggest going to netflix.
Oooo Glen Close Willem Defoe I want…
