And if so, are the autographs worth anything? I remember as a kid that you could buy little autograph books but I never had one.

When my dad passed, he had an autograph book that has some interesting names in it. He was a cab driver and got autographs from various riders. Not sure if the signatures are worth anything…I’ve never really looked into it I guess to the right person….maybe.
I have gotten autographs after Broadway plays. I have a Playbill from God of Carnage with autographs of James Gandolfini, Jefff Daniels, and Hope Davis. (Marcia Gay Harden got into a car too quickly for me.)
But autographs aren’t really worth anything except nostalgia. The only ones of real value are of people who have been dead for a while.
Yes and yes, definitely. Just watch a couple of Pawn Star episodes. Or look up an autograph of someone you admire on ebay. You will be surprised. Like stamps and coins, autographs have lost some of their lustre; their heyday past. Notwithstanding, people still collect, cherish, buy sell and trade them. Kids getting selfies will still ask for autographs.
In decline, like records, but with a solid base, akin to comics, I think.
Good question.
