Some families are opposed to organ donations, and if someone fails to opt-out and then dies, the family may be upset when the body is harvested.
A recent case in Northern California involved a 13 yr old girl who had an adverse reaction to anesthetic and was declared brain dead. Her parents fought the declaration, and kept the body on life support for five years, despite the State of California declaring her dead. Her organs could have helped dozens of people but the family was opposed.
Medical workers might be tempted to give up on a patient in order to facilitate organ donations.
@reddeerguy1. That literally never happens.
@Caravanfan “In Canada Elizabeth_Wettlaufer. Similar reason not given into why she killed her victims. Maybe to free up bed space in seniors homes. So evil happens anyplace.
You are comparing a psychopathic serial killer to medical professionals?
@Caravanfan Yes. She is a nurse. Evil exsists in all professions. Also we have legal cases of when to pull the plug on someone.
I have signed on my drivers license to donate my organs on on my death however I now have second thoughts about it ,after I saw a news cast a few months ago about a person to illegally sold organs online for thousands of dollars overseas internationally.
People were not aware of the organs being harvested etc
Those families that had a relative that donated their organs upon death were not aware of this man and probably others selling them on the black market and makings millions for years.
These people took advantage of the system, but one was caught. Still I bet that there is others who do this as a career.
The sensational items that make the news could be the .0% in any field any kind of case.
@RedDeerGuy1 The crime by the nurseand cases like that are not at all related to organ donation/body to medicine program.
@flo I will drop it. Sorry.
@Inspired_2write But they don’t close roads just because there have been some collisions there and people have died.
