Why do they refer to Trump's "hand-picked" Attorney General. Aren't all AG's hand-picked?

It seems redundant, so doesn’t it make those people look sort of stupid, like they are just now figuring that out? Or condescending, in case they think that you are stupid?

I seem to recall from history class that President Kennedy appointed his brother AG. That is real hand-picking.

I guess it depends on who the phrase is coming from.

From the Republicans it would imply the trump gave his choice deep consideration before he made the decision.

From the Dems it implies he picked someone as corrupt and clueless as he is.

And was heavily criticized for it, rightfully so.

Usually cabinet appointments are carefully selected, staff prepares a short list of possible Secty’s and then sits down with President who makes the final decision.

Trump chose Barr himself without consulting anyone o discussing with his own staff.
