I doubt the advertising angle would be very cost effective.

I dunno. Hyderabad, let alone its appliance repair center, was practically non-existant on my world map before the spam wave.

If they were set up to pay, then it couldn’t be removed. And it isn’t a very cost effective place to advertise.

Here is an idea:
All new accounts must pay a one time fee of 1€, refunded after 1 month of spam free membership.
