If your girlfriend/boyfriend cheats on you, would you ever regret having loved him/her?

Maybe your memories could become poisoned. Just for saying.

Can’t speak from experience on that specific account.
But I have had failed relationships.
The test is did the relationship improve you regardless of how it ended.
If so, then no regrets.
If not, you wasted your time.

No. It’s just one of those things in life.

Just regretted that I was duped and caused trust issues in relationships after that one.

I don’t really know.

Yes and no.
The long term damage it did to me was crippling.
We are close friends now, and I treasure that.

I have not had this experience (not been cheated on as far as I know), so it’s hard to speculate without having actually experienced it. To answer the question in the details, I would imagine I might question our experiences and wonder if the good times were all phony.

No, imo love is not regrettable, it’s a positive thing. If a person broke trust/ faith, that’s on them to live with. If you love someone and they die, do you regret that love? no, it’s just life.

I do kind of regret marrying my first husband. I still can believe the idiot cheated on me. He knew me. He knew I wouldn’t tolerate that shit. He didn’t even love any of those women. I don’t know why he did it. Ego I guess.
But I got 3 wonderful kids out of it, and, in the end, 10 wonderful grandkids, who he doesn’t even know.
His loss all the way around.

I’ve been mulling over this question since my first answer.
Would I date her again? Probably.
Would I tolerate her flagrant cheating as long as I did? No.

@longgone Since this has been moved to Social, do you reexamine the moderated responses?
