What should I name my two pet dead rats?

Asked by Yellowdog (12216points) May 3rd, 2019

Tuesday morning, after the very first night I put three rat traps out, I caught two dead rats, one male and one female.

They were actually much cuter than I expected, with their tiny eyes and hands, cute little whiskers, and their soft, silky grey fur. I can see why some people keep live ones as pets. So I decided to keep these..

Within one day, they REALLY started to smell, so I moved their cage outside. Now they look like bad hairballs and stink up the back yard. I doubt they’ll last much longer.

I’ve been considering to name the male “Stanky Rat” and the female “Stinky Deadrat” (pronounced DEED-rit) but with all the talk on Fluther about giving rats asses and all that, I wondered if anyone can think of better names. There have been some really good posts on things like this.

A small point but you didn’t catch two dead rats you killed two live rats. Anyway put them both in a pot, boil them up with some potatoes and herbs and call them Stu.

Since you decided to make pets of them after killing them, I’m thinking Coulda Ben for the male, and Nevira Was for the female.
Of course, there is that third rat. Why do you care only to name the dead ones? Name that third one Lucky Summabitch.

@flutherother I actually don’t know if they were dead or not before they were caught—I only know that the traps killed them. Maybe it was the second time they died. But calling them Stu after making the appropriate formalities is an excellent way to commemorate

@janbb Since they are both equally dead, and one is male and the other female, maybe Deady and Mummy

They’re pretty deflated now, but I named them Maggots and Moving Rice when they last looked like actual dead rats.
