Before mirrors were invented, how did people know they were good looking?

Asked by Dutchess_lll (8753points) May 3rd, 2019

Many beautiful people get snobby and stuck up (but not all…. Sandra Bullock, Julia Roberts and Lucy Ball for example.) So did people get arrogant about their accidental good looks before mirrors were invented?

Mirrors were around at the very arrival of civilization. But even the blind soon figure out whether or not they’re good looking.

Before mirrors, women knew they were good looking because men kept hitting them on the head with a club? And men knew they were good looking because women kept asking to hit them on the head with his club?

The predecessors of the first mirrors were anything made of polished silver, as were the first mirrors. Before mirrors were invented, people turned on their lights at night and saw their reflection in the windows.

They looked at pictures of me and compared themselves.

Yeah, @elbanditoroso but you were much younger back before mirrors were invented.

By the way, no one has a patent on mirrors. I’m going to apply. I want to get royalties for every mirror manufactured and sold.
