Does your favorite extinct animal choice say something very basic about your personality?
A conversation I was listening to with Neil DeGrasse Tyson, and Jeff Goldblum turned to the subject of children, dangers, and dinosaurs. The consensus was kids love the t Rex best because they are big and could eat you. They said the same applies to our perception of what aliens would be like if they came to this planet. They seemed to agree that movies about aliens always portray them as deadly because of a human fascination with danger.
This made me curious because my favorite extinct animals, though not dinosaurs, were the saber tooth cats, and woolly mammoth. While dangerous, neither rank in size as a t Rex, and mammoths were herbivores.
So, what are your favorite dinos, or extinct species, and do you feel that our answers to that question reveals some deeply embedded personality trait?
If so, what does my favorites being mammals say about me?
What does your choice day about you?
For extra credit, if aliens came here from another solar system, would President Trump make them go through the regular paperwork process?
By the way, those were my favorites long before Sid and Manny debuted.

I always liked Steller’s sea cows (and their living cousins, manatees).
And passenger pigeons – I always thought they were pretty cool.
Always been partial to Brontosauruses. Probably because I like gentle giants. Don’t know what that says about me. Lol
Yes! Brontos! They seem so, maternal maybe?
I would put manatees in that same category, big, powerful, safe neighbors.
I would like to know what different extinct animals taste like. Luke a bronto burger, from Flintstones.
I’m actually covering that in the book I’m currently working on. Jurassic cooking, is it worth the trip?
When I think of favorite animals still here or extinct, my favorites are docile, or cuddly, not aggressive. Or, they are not thought of as aggressive. I like domestic cats and cows and elephants. As far as extinct, if we talk about dinosaurs it would probably be a vegetarian non-aggressive one if that exists.
I think I would like a sabre tooth tiger.
@Dutchess, me too.
@JLeslie, there were lots of herbivore dinosaurs, for instance brontosaurus, which are assumed docile.
I think that the T. rex represents my deep desire to dominate the world with brute strength and blind defiance.
