If you could choose, would you prefer a job with a weekend that's two days in a row, or to work three or four days with one day off?

Every Friday I get excited because it’s Friday and I feel like I made it through the five days, now I look forward to the two day stretch with no work.
However, I can see the benefit of having a three or four day work week with one day off to break up the stretch.
Some jobs work a three days on, one day off, four days on, one day off work week.
Of course, with my hypothetical scenario where you choose, you can always take an extra day off if you need it, for a special occasion or something.
What would you prefer? A five day stretch with two days off or a few days on, one day off work week?

2 day weekend.
Because:
– 1 day is not enough to wind down.
– only 2 days of consecutive work is bad for motivation.
I have worked swing shift, four ten hour days and regular five day shifts. Four tens seems nice but you end up running all your errands and stuff on your days off. With eight hour days there is still time to get all that done during the work week. Don’t get me started on swing shifts. They should be illegal.
My daughter works for a hospital – 4 ten hour days. In general her calendar is:
Monday – work
Tuesday -work
Wednes. – off
Thurs. – work
Friday – work
Saturday and Sunday – off
so she never works more than two days in a row.
I need two consecutive days off to decompress.
My employers changed policy on vacation accrual once, a long time ago- they reduced it to no more than 160 hours max at any given time. Before that there had been no cap, and we were given 6 months to reduce our balance or lose it.
I worked a four day work week from Labor Day until New Years; it was great having two Fridays a week!
Two days in a row. That way, you can plan to do something, like go fishing or camping, or to see family.
I have worked both and when I need to make more money ( summer time) I worked extra and had only one day off..so it depends on your reasons ?
After I paid off my bills I had worked day shifts 7 Am – 4 Pm ( one hour lunch) or opted for only half hour lunches at times to get off earlier.
I found having two days off worked best as I could rest the first off day and do weekly laundry, and grocery shopping etc ans the 2nd day off I would go outdoors hiking etc.
More days off is what is important to me.
I work monday to thursday now,it’s ok but what I really liked was four on ,four off.
I think mailmen have a good setup. They get every Sunday off, but their other day off moves like so: If they’re off Monday this week, next week they get Tuesday, Wednesday the following week and so on. But come Friday, they get Friday, Saturday and Sunday. So that’s a 3 day weekend every 5 weeks followed by one 6 day work week in the same 5 week period.
I want my weekends because everyone is off at the same time basically. Better for events and family plans.
Two in a row, would be nice. I have not had that luxury of the days being weekends in a LONG time. I almost prefer having two days off in the week, like Mon, and Tues. Then there are less people on the roads, and in the rivers…
Totally agree @MrGrimm888 I like midweek weekends.
Problem I have right now Mrs Squeeky works weekends she only gets three weekends off a year and right now I always get Friday-Saturday-Sunday.
I would dearly love to go back to our 40 on and 4 off shifts but the Boss says we can’t right now.
I prefer 3 days off in a row or to work from home on Fridays or Mondays (with the weekends off).
When I worked at the emergency veterinarian hospital, we tried a week on/week off schedule. When on, it was three 12 hour shifts, one day off, then three more 12’s, and seven days off.
The problem was that people got burnt out fast on the weeks on. The weeks off were AWESOME though. We did that for almost a year. Then it changed.
