What did you think of the movie, "Poms?"?

Asked by Aster (20028points) May 13th, 2019

We saw it last night. The reviews were right. It wasn’t worth the time and expense to go see it. And you?

I haven’t seen it. And based on the reviews online and in the newspaper, I won’t.

I have the impression that is was more of a money-making attempt by female actors ‘of a certain age’ than a real attempt to make a meaningful or at least entertaining film.

There are so many really quality movies with older women that it seems a shame that movies like this, and Book Club are the ones that get the press. See The Wife, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, 45 Years, Quartet, Ladies In Lavender; the list is long and elegant. Don’t waste your time with films that mock and denigrate older people/women.

I saw the trailer and decided I didn’t want to see the movie. It seemed stupid and exploitive of aging women.
