My landline rang 4 times in 20 seconds, suggesting 12 times in a minute.
My answering machine has two settings, pick up after 4 rings, or 6 rings.

My machine answers at 6 rings if there is no calls on the answering machine, if the is an unheard message the machine will answer after 4 rings.
