Being a doctor specifically an anesthesiologist. The problem was lack of money to finish school.
I always want to lose 20 pounds. Never happens. I guess that just seems like the biggest because it is such a constant….
Being the best mother, ever. Sadly, I can only be the mother that I am. Nobody’s perfect.
Is your child a stripper? If not then you did good:)
If they are..that was a joke :p
I’m a reasonably good mom, just not the “SuperMom” I’d hoped to be. Since the oldest is only 14, we’ll have to wait awhile to judge the eventual outcome ;)
stop It Augustlan: youre probably an awesome momma!
As for me… I wasnted to be a rockstar in the 9th grade and fashion designer. It’s not to late, I just have other more realistic goals.
@general; why did you give up, if I am not being too rude in asking?
@Haight: I wanted to be a fashion designer, too!
quite doing drugs, popping pills, and smoking
@gail.. not sure, i just couldn’t get into it. and as much as i’d like to have complete faith and that sort of thing.. it just wasn’t me. i just have trouble believing in the whole thing 100%
@general; I felt that way about Jewish theology, although I consider myself a secular Jew. I guess that one cannot be a secular Christian?
Coming from a normal middle class family, most of my dreams & goals sounded out of reach, when I was 17 I was thinking on giving up on every sigle crazy idea I had, but then I thought that if I die trying would be more respectable than never taking the hard road, so I did, and that very day, I refused to give up on everything I really want [so far, everything is going well]
Determining the meaning of life. I got to the number 42 and gave up.
Losing my patience with the old, predictable and tired jokes that keep reappearing here. But I am still trying. (Pass me my bite plate.)
@Flame; a tantalizing answer but we need more details. What do you want and how are you going about it?
apologies for the “old, predictable and tired” joke. but it’s half true
Meaning of life. Purpose. Gotta find it. That seemed like an important goal to me as a youngster. Thought the way was through religion. Nope, no belief there. Even unreligious faith. Nope. Basically, I’m an atheist who’s decided that there is no meaning to this life. Or we make our own meaning. I quite literally gave up caring why we live, and started living.
@Gail
I’d love to be a master of the universe but, in the end, I just want to be happy. I pursue everything, me career, the car of my dreams, even love, with passion, craze, with everything I have just to get it. The “I did it” sensation runs through your veins like fuel that brings fire your life, I have the need to have that feeling all the time so I don’t feel everything I do is worthless, everything must have a meaning…
@Flame; I am glad that you found a plan that works for you; however, “I have the need to have that feeling -the I did it feverish sensation”-may be an impossible dream. And it does sound exhausting. I settle for one or two epiphanies per day, on a good day (and not hitting any deer this month).
@Gail
It is exhausting, but I just can’t sit and see my life passing by :s
Isn’t there a compromise solution? Say, euphoria for 75% of your waking hours and calmness for the other 25%?
does my coffee breaks count?
