Do you go out for Sunday breakfast and brunches?

Asked by mazingerz88 (29260points) June 22nd, 2019

How often and where do you usually go? Do you go with friends or family or both? Read the news or bring along a pet?

Yup! Then if all goes right we go see grandkids. If not we just drive around in the country waiting to be surprised.
One time, and I’m not kidding, Rick hit the brakes hard enough to cause the car to slide on the gravel a bit…then backed up, stopped, and he said “Is that a gravestone at the edge of that field???”
I got out…and yes. Yes it was. Of a little girl who was born in 1898 and died in 1902…...I have pictures.

^^Well now there’s an idea. Me and my friends could get our breakfast to go and eat it while driving around somewhere nice.

I eat breakfast about 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, after a late morning run and getting cleaned up. I’ll take my kids if they are around and hungry, but most of the time I am by myself. I’ll take the paper, especially on Sundays.

I go to Millie’s Kitchen, a plain old coffee shop. That has been around over 70 years. Millie passed away at age 96 a couple years ago, but the family have no plans to close it.

Sometimes if I’m out shopping or running errands, I’ll stop at a bagel place and get coffee and a bagel. Otherwise, if I am home without plans, I much prefer a relaxing weekend morning at home, with my own coffee, yogurt, fruit, maybe eggs or a smoothie.

Almost every Sunday I have breakfast with a friend, usually at one diner or another. We’ve been doing this for years, it’s a nice start to the week.

I used to love Sunday brunch but, alas, I haven’t done it for years.
Lack of time, incentive, calorie demand, and desire to get cleaned up all keep me home eating a bowl of bran buds and a banana for breakfast while looking at a screen or the newspaper.
I do meet a friend for breakfast about once per week on a weekday and enjoy that a lot.

Guess what I’m eating now.

Sometimes the wife and I go after church. Mid-morning. Usually try to find a decent place. Thankfully a new place opened close by and they have good food at a reasonable price.

Not regularly, but weekend brunch is usually what I do when I visit my parents.

Where I live we go out for buffet breakfast any day of the week. I go with friends about once a month. Once in a while it is order from a menu rather than buffet. The buffets in my immediate area are $9 to $12, so very reasonable, and then the coffee is extra. I don’t drink coffee, so it’s very cheap for me. I don’t feel the need to pig out since it is reasonable. I can get a made to order white omelet that has veggies, side of fruit, and I do get a few strips of bacon as a treat, or some ham. I don’t usually eat any of the pastries or biscuits.

When my husband was working we went for brunch on either Saturday or Sunday, about once every 8 to 12 weeks. Now, that he isn’t working, we go any day of the week, and we go for breakfast/brunch about once a month. Every few months we trek down to Orlando and get Brunch at one of the hotels at Universal, we love it! It’s $25 for the buffet, or you can order off of the menu, so it is a special treat. It’s truly brunch for me, I just eat one more light meal later in the evening.

We use Sundays, as a rest day, so not often, plus Sunday is a day a lot of people go out for breakfast and meals, so it can get crowded. We like it more quiet when possible and not too crowded. Usually we do breakfast out on a Saturday once in a while. However we did do it today for Sunday. Just my dad and I.
We usually go to two local places. Yes sometimes bring along friends, family or some of both at times. No reading, we visit and eat. We don’t have pets, but normally can’t bring pets into restaurant unless it’s a service dog or such.
