In the movie "South Pacific" (1958) were the fighter planes really F6F "Hellcats" or were they F8F "Bearcats?"?

F6F had a three bladed prop and the F8F Bearcat had a four bladed prop. Also the F6F had a ridge behind the cockpit back to the tail. My dad taught overhaul and maintenance on Pratt & Whitney engines used on the F6F and the F8F.

And the wildcat as well?

@Tropical_Willie That info should get me my answer. I’ll check the prop count the next time I have the opportunity to view the film.
Thanks!
