He’s weird, sometimes funny, probably a riot if you were coked up and partying though.
He’s a cock & a limp one at that.
I loved Russell when he first appeared; however, like many other celebrities, I grow tired of them/him just about the same time they begin to feel that they are important & what they think is what everyone should think!!! I found it interesting that he felt it was toxic when he was “spattered out in a series of orgasms & gestations” when it was OK that he “chose” a family where “he’s the father he chose a mother & they had the daughter which is his children”, Eventually his daughter will see this & she’ll realize he passed his toxicity on to her in exactly the same manner & assuming she buys his bullshit, that he’ll be paying for these words once she becomes 10–15 years old. At that point he’ll be spouting about how life is a bitch!!!
I used to hate him. But he has really grown, as a person. He’s been sober for years, and also has realized the errors of many of his ways. I respect him now.
@LadyMarissa
So, basically, he’s a comedian putting the most cynical spin possible on a given subject? I’ve certainly never seen any other comedian do that.
Ass.
Pretentious.
At least, that’s how I perceive him.
Can’t remember I ever laughed when he was on TV, being standing upping, or in a panel, or interview.
He played a second rate Arthur.
His role in Forgetting Sarah Marshall was pretty awful.
I don’t think I have seen anything more recent than that because he was so poor an actor.
I thought he was absolutely hilarious when he mocked MSNBC

And I thought he was the funniest part of Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him to the Greek
Sometimes he’s funny. Watched a stand-up of his once on TV and that was it.
That take on Arthur was so bad and so uncalled for though that it’s best to simply not waste one’s time with it and just revisit the original and its sequel, both of which still hold up nicely today imo.
Enjoyed his character in Sarah Marshall.
He plays Airhead well, but when he is out of character he shows he is remarkably intelligent.
Based on the video, I agree with the OP. He does not seem to be saying anything.
He IS intelligent, a sort of pop philosopher, who’s managed to convert his musings into a lucrative occupation. But it’s foolish to fault the barker at the carnival for parting you from your money.
His name sounds like a porn movie star who took his middle name and added the name of the street he first lived on or the name of his first pet.
But he’s a self-made man and I can respect that.
@thywater “What do you think of Russell Brand?I found this exhausting and wordy. Thoughts?”
I remained alert during the five minute podcast and did not need to consult a dictionary.
Witty and intelligent with a cv that is not something to be sniffed at.
