You mean to check if you had got a text or voice mail type thing?
Most days mine is in my shirt pocket, and unlike smart phones I have both my hands unlike smartphone users that have to give up one of their hands because it always has a smart phone glued to it.

@SQUEEKY2 I love you man but you can answer a question about phones without insulting the majority of people who use phones. It’s OK. You do your thing.

I just observe people when out and about and most(not all ) have a smart phoned glued to one of their hands.
I have always wondered do they shower with it in their hand as well?
I have watched people in restaurants eating one handed because the other is glued to the phone.
I have watched women pushing strollers ,and yup one hand has a phone in it.
People say they are not addicted to it, but man do they panic if the battery craps out, we had to bring a nephew with us one time going to relatives and his battery crapped out and he forgot his charger had a bit of a melt down, he calmed down when I told him mine would fit his phone.
Don’t get me wrong I do use my cell a lot but I can go through the day with it in my pocket and not in my hand , and still drive with it simply OFF.

Observe away. I see some pretty depressing stuff involving phones….stuff I would not do. But that’s me. I have different priorities.

@SQUEEKY2 My husband props his up on the windowsill while he takes his shower. I recently saw a shower curtain with a fold over pocket for your phone.

Dutchess_lll's avatar

Why does he do that? The dampness could cause water damage to the phone.

Just picked up your phone while sleeping and put it back down.

Consider what a “phone” is now. Get used to it, tech is only going to get more intergrated with our bodies. For me when I’m not engaged in something interesting it’s a portal into a world where I’m not bored out of my damn mind. They are in fact an expansion module for our minds and I’m embracing it.

Oh, by the way, I’ve done that but not while half asleep. I was fully awake, picked it up and put it down without speaking simply because I didn’t want to speak to the person on the other side of the line.

Yes, especially if my phone is ringing with a number I don’t recognize.

@RedDeerGuy1 , If you were asleep, how do you know what you did? Was someone watching?

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@LostInParadise Not sleeping, but trying to. I have the habit of reaching for my phone every so often.
